 The bhaji prepared by mashing vegetables like potatoes, tomatoes, peas, and adding spices and lemon juice is served with a buttermilk loaf. Let’s start a recipe of pav bhaji.

Material required for pav bhaji recipe

2 medium potatoes, chopped (about 1½ cups)
1/2 cup green peas (fresh or frozen)
3/4 cup chopped cauliflower (about 1/4 cauliflower)
1/2 cup chopped carrots (about 1 medium)
1 large onion, finely chopped (about 3/4 cup)
1 tablespoon ginger garlic paste
2 medium tomatoes, finely chopped (about 1¼ cup)
1/2 cup chopped capsicum (about 1 small)
1½ tsp red chili powder (or less)
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp coriander-cumin powder, optional
1 tsp readymade pav bhaji Masala powder
1 tsp lemon juice
Salt to taste
2 tablespoons oil + 2 tablespoons butter
Butter to serve
2 tablespoons finely chopped coriander leaves
8 loaf buns to serve

Method for Pav Bhaji Recipe 

Step 1:-

Pav bhaji recipe important step. Wash all the vegetables listed in the ingredients in water, wipe them with a cloth, and cut them into small pieces.

Step 2:-

Put chopped potatoes, cauliflower, carrots and green peas in a pressure cooker of 2-3 liters capacity. Add 1/2 cup water and salt according to taste.

Step 3:-

Close the pressure cooker lid and let it cook on a medium flame for 2-seats. Turn the gas off and keep the pressure cooker cool down. Open the lid after all the pressure is removed automatically; it will take about 5-7 minutes.

Step 4:-

Mash the boiled vegetables with the help of a spoon or potato masher. You can add more or fewer vegetables as per your choice. The texture (look) of bhaji will depend on the mashing of vegetables.

Step 5:-

In a Kadai, heat 2-tablespoons oil and 2-tablespoons butter together on medium heat. Add chopped onion and ginger-garlic paste. Fry the onion till it becomes light pink.

Step 6:-

Add chopped capsicum, chopped tomatoes, and salt.

Step 7:-

Fry the capsicum and tomatoes till they become soft.

Step 8:-

Add 1½ tsp red chili powder, 1/4 tsp turmeric powder, 1-tsp coriander-cumin powder, and 1-tsp readymade pav bhaji Masala powder.

Step 9:-

Cook for one minute while stirring with a spoon.

Step 10:-

Add 3/4 cup water, mix well and let it cook for 2-3 minutes.

Step 11:-

Add boiled vegetables and 1 tsp lemon juice.

Step 12:-

Mix well and cook for 4-5 minutes. Now taste the bhaji and add more salt if required and mix well. Turn off the gas. Garnish with finely chopped coriander leaves. Bhaji is ready to be served.

Step 13:-

Cut the buns with the help of a knife in such a way that they remain attached to the other side. Heat the pan on medium heat. Put 1-tablespoon butter on the griddle and place the sliced loaf buns on top of it and bake until it turns light brown on both sides, it will take about 30 seconds to cook on each side. Put the cooked pav on a plate and bake the remaining pans in the same way.

Step 14:-

Take out the bhaji in a bowl and garnish with a piece of butter and serve hot with baked pav, chopped onion, and lemon. Pav bhaji recipe is ready.
